VIRENDER SEHWAG OR ROHIT SHARMA: WHO’S BETTER?

India has not seen many natural opening batsmen in the post-2000 era. India did it in five years with five batsmen: Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhavan. It was the mainstay of the inauguration for 5 years.

Among these players, two of them have gained fame for their aggressive approach and ability to go bankrupt in cash – Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma. While Rohit Sharma currently dominates the chart and Veeru has commanded it in the past.

The hitman has been India’s mainstay since 2013 and has never looked back after emerging as Sehwag’s successor.

But the question is who will come out on top: Virender Sehwag or Rohit Sharma? And Who is better in between two Rohit or Sehwag

 Over the years Rohit Sharma had a bat to beat but failed to run. But this Mumbai opener put the sword on all his critics by scoring 648 runs in the 2019 World Cup in England.

Although there is many people who differentiate between Rohit Sharma vs Virender Sehwag. Rohit has performed well against Australia in the recent series, it is not enough to prove him away from home.

Virender Sehwag has scored 10 test centuries in foreign countries including England, Australia and South Africa. Virender Sehwag also scored six runs in 15 overseas ODI centuries. It’s simple, Veeru really knows how to find a home away from home. Virender Sehwag has always been a fixture away from home for India and has been very useful abroad. We cannot leave this section to Virender Sehwag as he is better than Rohit in this section.

Why Hitman has always had a bigger burden on his shoulders

Both players wheather Virender Sehwag or Rohit Sharma have been very important to Indian teams, often opening the batting despite having different roles and responsibilities.

Virender Sehwag has always been allowed to move forward. Be it a World Cup final or a pre-tournament friendly, Veeru’s aggressive approach has never failed.

And while he has always been an integral part of the team, he has never been India’s most important player. As amazing as Sehwag was, considering XI stalwarts like Tendulkar, Dravid and Dhoni, the responsibility of getting the Men in Blue did not fall on his shoulders.

But in the case of Rohit Sharma, the story could not be more different. Geetman is easily India’s second best player after Virat Kohli. And in the days of King Kohli’s departure, the entire nation must rally behind India’s vice-captain.

 Sehwag is on a different planet to Rohit in Test cricket

Sehwag has been an integral part of the Indian Test throughout his career. And the great opener has made interesting records. Along with the most Test scores and triple centuries by an Indian batsman, he also holds the record for the longest 200 and 250 runs in the format.

 Sehwag’s fast start was golden in gold as he darted like white-ball cricket. How can you forget the 284 he scored on the first day of the Test against Sri Lanka in 2008?

As soon as Sehwag starts, the opponents start chanting. Veeru was a complete run machine in Test cricket and was formidable in the shorter formats. But nothing can be said about Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai Indians skipper is not always at his best in the limited-overs format, and some could argue that he has become crucial in Tests, but Sehwag is a non-starter by comparison.

 Sharma has the edge over Sehwag in ODIs

There is no denying that Sehwag is one of the greatest ODI batsmen of our time. His ability to hit the best bowlers in all departments and start the Indian innings almost T20 style has been extraordinary from day one. Good at power play.

Rohit Sharma can match Virender Sehwag in terms of going into mode, but no Virender Sehwag scored 8273 points in 251 matches with an average of 34.03. If not impressive, he trails Rohit Sharma with 9,207 runs in 24 fewer matches. and an impressive average of 48.96 in 50-man cricket. And before we forget, Sharma’s two hundred and three ODIs cemented his status.

 Hitman over Veeru in ICC tournaments any day

 Both Rohit Sharma or Virender Sehwag have established themselves as big players. Not surprisingly, no one had any problems joining the ICC tournament.

Although Sehwag was eliminated from the 2011 World Cup final, he was the standout striker for India throughout the tournament. Veeru ‘s best ICC performance was at the 2002 Champions Trophy where he scored 270 points on an average of 90.88.

However, his brilliant 82 goals against Australia in the 2003 World Cup final should be the highlight. But in the ICC tournament, the killer is on another planet.

 Conclusion

 Sehwag is regarded as one of the best batsmen of our time and Rohit Sharma is the man who has been asked to wear these boots ever since the legend used them. It would also be a crime to say that this was not done in the verdict.

Based on all the evidence we have, we think that Hitman beats Veera and should be considered the top scorer.

This is very welcome. But in our humble opinion, Rohit Sharma is winning the battle.
