Qatar tested a ton of buses for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. This will be the first World Cup hosted by an Arab country. Qatar, a small emirate in the Persian Gulf, is one of the richest countries on the planet due to its vast reserves of natural gas.

Qatar is testing a huge fleet of buses ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup, when around 1.2 million fans will arrive in the tiny Gulf country. Zalara said around 4,000 buses will be used during the month-long tournament starting on November 20. This includes around 1,000 existing vehicles for the FIFA World Cup plus 3,000 buses. they said

Fans can also use Qatar’s metro system. A fleet of buses transports passengers between the main transport hubs and the eight stadiums where the matches are played. Authorities carried out tests on about 1,800 passenger-free buses over the weekend.

Travel is free for holders of the government-issued Haya card, which is required to enter the stadium. Overall, the app has features that allow fans to plan trips. Between November 1st and January 23rd, all visitors to Qatar will need a Hayacard, even if they are not planning to attend a match. Cardholders can also enter the UAE and Oman.
