A fresh captain is on the horizon for Team India in their forthcoming tour to the United Kingdom (UK), with renowned fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah slated to take the helm of the second-string Indian squad against the Irish hosts. The imminent T20I series comprising three matches against Ireland will signify the comeback of the experienced pacemaker Bumrah to the international cricket scene. After contending with a persistent back injury, Bumrah underwent a recovery period that spanned nearly 11 months, keeping him away from competitive action.

Indian opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has been designated as the vice-captain to the fully-recovered Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming series against Ireland.
