August 25, 2023

Bangladesh suffered a major blow ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup as fast bowler Ebadot Hossain was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

Hossain, who is a key member of the Bangladesh bowling attack, injured his knee during the recent ODI series against Afghanistan. He was initially included in Bangladesh’s 17-member squad for the Asia Cup, but he has not been able to recover from the injury in time.

His place in the squad has been taken by 20-year-old uncapped bowler Tanzim Hasan.

The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 15. Bangladesh is placed in Group B with India, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates.

The loss of Hossain is a major blow to Bangladesh’s chances of winning the Asia Cup. He is a skillful bowler who has the ability to take wickets in all conditions. His absence will make it difficult for Bangladesh to contain the batting lineups of the other teams in the tournament.

Bangladesh will be hoping that Tanzim Hasan can fill the void left by Hossain. He is a talented bowler who has been impressive in domestic cricket. He will be looking to make a mark on the international stage and help Bangladesh challenge for the Asia Cup title.

Additional information:

  • It will be interesting to see if Hossain can recover in time for the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be held in India from October 5 to November 14.
