Indian players celebrate with the trophy after winning the Asia Cup 2023 final match against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka was destroyed by Mohammed Siraj’s six-wicket haul in the first six overs.

Mohammed Siraj‘s destructive bowling effort helped India win the Asia Cup 2023 championship by 10 wickets. In his seven overs, Siraj got six wickets for 21 runs, including four in one over. This bowling effort against Sri Lanka is the finest one by any bowler in an ODI.

In the third over, Siraj started the demolition effort by throwing Pathum Nissanka. When Sri Lanka reached 12/6, he bowled a stunning fourth over, picking up four wickets in a row. Siraj dismissed Dasun Shanaka, the captain of Sri Lanka, to complete his five-wicket haul in the sixth over.

After Siraj’s assault, Sri Lanka’s innings never recovered, and they were finally bowled out for 50. In ODI history, this is their second-worst result.

India completed the task in only 6.1 overs thanks to an unbroken 50-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill.

Siraj’s performance in the championship match was genuinely exceptional, and it is evidence of his skill and progress as a bowler. He is now regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in the world, and he will be crucial for India in the 2018 ODI World Cup.

Kuldeep Yadav: Player of the Series at Asia Cup 2023

Kuldeep Yadav, who has nine wickets for India in five games, was awarded player of the series in the 2023 Asia Cup. Yadav’s effort was crucial to India winning their eighth Asia Cup championship.

In the match against Pakistan, Yadav had his greatest performance, taking 5 wickets for 25 runs. In the group stage, he also defeated Sri Lanka with 4 wickets. Yadav was only allowed one over in the championship game, yet he only scored one run.

The left-arm wrist spinner Yadav’s effort was a welcome return to form. Despite his recent struggles with consistency, he proved at the Asia Cup that he is still a world-class bowler.

Yadav’s success was credited to a variety of things, including his better control and his capacity for bowling at a quicker tempo. He also gave Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, thank for his encouragement and support.

After the match, Yadav remarked, “I have been working hard on my rhythm for the past 1.5 years. “I’m attempting to play more forcefully in the crease. My game of bowling is fun. My achievement is a result of Rohit bhai. He’s pushed me to improve my speed. It is simpler for the spinners when the quick bowlers take wickets during the powerplay.

The Asia Cup performance by Yadav is evidence that he is back to his best. For India, he will be an important player in the 2017 ODI World Cup.
