After his six-wicket performance against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final, Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj has taken back the top place in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings.

After being replaced by Josh Hazlewood in March, Mohammed Siraj, who achieved the top spot in the ICC ODI bowling rankings for the first time in January 2023, has now reclaimed the top spot thanks to a standout performance against New Zealand. Siraj led in the loss of the hosts for just 50 runs, giving India a 10-wicket win.

Siraj has now achieved the top place in the ODI bowling rankings again. Since Jasprit Bumrah in 2019, he is the first Indian bowler to achieve this feat.

Siraj has quickly ascended to the top. He made his ODI debut in 2021, and since then, he has become one of the game’s most dangerous bowlers. He is famous for his swing, quickness, and quality.

Siraj’s performance against New Zealand served as evidence of both his talent and his stamina. The greatest bowling effort by an Indian bowler in an ODI match in New Zealand was his four wickets for 10 runs.

The success of Siraj is significant for both him and Indian cricket. Young bowlers look up to him, and all Indians find inspiration in him.

Just over two weeks before the start of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has advanced significantly in the most recent ICC ODI bowling rankings. His performances in the final two games of the series between South Africa and Australia, the series between England and New Zealand, and the Asia Cup have all been taken into account.

Maharaj, now ranked No. 5, has climbed eight ranks to reclaim his berth among the top 10. His standing is at its greatest point since 2019.

Maharaj has been in fantastic shape lately. He contributed to the Proteas’ 3-2 series victory by taking 8 wickets in the final two games of the South Africa-Australia series. Additionally, he contributed to England’s 3-0 victory against New Zealand by taking 6 wickets in that series.

Maharaj is an important player for South Africa and is anticipated to have a big World Cup season. He is a capable bowler who can perform well in both the middle and powerplay overs. He is an excellent fielder as well, which will help him significantly in the close games that are common in World Cups.

Maharaj’s climb in the ranks is evidence of his diligence and hard work. He is at the top of his game as a competent and seasoned bowler. He will be one of the bowlers to keep an eye on during the World Cup and might be crucial to South Africa’s maiden World Cup victory.

Afghan spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan are two more prominent climbers in the most recent ICC ODI bowling rankings. Rahman rose two spots to rank fourth, and Khan rose three spots to rank fifth. Chris Woakes, an all-rounder for England, has moved up to position 11, while Lungi Ngidi, a South African, is now in place 21.

Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa and Dawid Malan of England have both made major improvements in their batting numbers. Malan is in a career-best 13th place after scoring 277 runs in the three matches he played in the series, while Klaasen is in the top 10 for the first time thanks to his incredible 174 against Australia in Centurion.

Klaasen’s ranking in the top 10 is evidence of his recent success. He has been one of South Africa’s most reliable players lately, and his century against Australia was a game-winning effort.

Another batsman who has been performing well lately is Malan. He made a huge impact in both of the ODIs against New Zealand, scoring a century in the second one two matches of the series.

Going to the World Cup, Klaasen and Malan are both in excellent shape and will be important players for their respective countries.

Following England’s highest-ever ODI total of 182 at The Oval, Ben Stokes moved up 13 positions to position 36 in the ICC ODI batting rankings.

Other batters to climb up the rankings include David Miller of South Africa (up four spots to 17th), Charith Asalanka of Sri Lanka (up two spots to 28th), Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh (up five spots to joint-29th), and Alex Carey of Australia (up three spots to joint-29th).

Stokes’ climb in the rankings is evidence of his recent success. He has been one of England’s most reliable players recently, and in his last five ODI games, he has two hundreds.

Miller has also been in fantastic shape recently. He smashed a century against England in the third one-day international, and he also contributed significantly in later games.

Carey, Asalanka, and Shakib are all dynamic players who can play in a variety of spots in the batting order. They will all be important players for their respective nations at the 2018 World Cup because they have all been in amazing form already.
