From four tons to Kohli’s incredible catches in a season, the IPL creates a lot of buzz across India. The upcoming IPL will be the 16th season of the Indian Premier League and like every season, a lot of new data will be released and many records will be broken.

Here are some Amazing facts about IPL;

 1) Only two Indians have won the MVP award;

 The Indian Premier League has been around for 15 years and only two Indian players have won the Most Valuable Player title so far. Sachin Tendulkar was the first person to win the award in this category in the 2010 IPL season. The blaster master scored 618 runs for Mumbai Indians that season. He was also an Orange Cup winner in the tournament.

 Virat Kohli finished second in the eighth season of IPL. Kohli was sensational that season, scoring 973 runs. Interestingly, the Australians are on top , with Shane Watson scoring twice and Adam Gilchrist and Glenn Maxwell each winning.


2) Ball price in IPL 2018;

The broadcast rights of IPL 2018 were sold to Star India Network for Rs.16347.5 crore, which means 1 ball will cost around Rs.21 lakh.


3) up to 386 runs without the ball;

Piyush Chawla is one of the most underrated spinners in the history of Indian cricket. However, the leg spinner has one of the most impressive records. While with Delhi Daredevils, he failed to play a single no-ball in 386 overs. He bowled in the most disciplined way imaginable for eight years.


4) Only two foreign players have played more than 100 games in the same team;

The wacky T20 tournament has come a long way since its inception in 2008, with many players switching clubs over the years. But Kieron and AB de Villiers are the only two players to have played more than 100 games for the same team.

ABDmade his debut for Delhi, but since 2011 he has been a loyal servant of RCB. The South African played 101 matches for Bangalore. As for Pollard, he made his debut with Mumbai Indians in 2010. He played 123 matches for the franchise.


5) Virat Kohli was part of the three associations that lasted two centuries;

Indian scouts became a terror to opponents, especially during the chase. Interestingly, Kohli was part of three two-century partnerships in IPL history. First, he reached 204* in 2012 against Delhi Daredevils with Chris Gayle. The second with ABD  in 2015 was 215* against Mumbai Indians. The third highest of the three came when he reached 229 against Gujarat Lions in 2016 with ABD.


6) Harbhajan Singh has the largest number of ducks to his name;

The classic Indian off-spinner holds the record for most ducks in IPL history – 13. He was part of Mumbai Indians for nine years and was released by MI in the 10th IPL auction. He is not a part of Chennai Super Kings.


7) RCB holds the record for highest and lowest total in IPL history;

Royal Challengers Bangalore have always been a team of power hitters with a fantastic record to their name. He has the highest and lowest sums to his name.

In IPL 2013, RCB posted a whopping 263/5 against Pune Warriors. It was in that match that Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 runs. Interestingly, four years later, in IPL 2017, Kolkata Knight Riders included a total of 49 runs. The scorer of the innings was Kedar Jadhav
