Sourav Ganguly recently confirmed that Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the IPL.

Rishabh Pant plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Out of mid-on, the left-hander showcased his brilliant bowling and hit the top balls with gusto. Ponte played 98 IPL matches and scored 2,838 runs with a strike rate of 2,838. He will continue to lead Delhi in the 2021 season.

On December 30, while going to Roorkee, Ponte’s car met with an accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He is currently hospitalized and under close observation. Sourav Ganguly recently confirmed that the 25-year-old will not play his 16th match in the Amir League. Let’s take a look at the Delhi players who are looking to break free in the upcoming season.

Aryan Juyal is one of the most exciting prospects in the Indian circuit. The 21-year-old played 28 matches for A and scored 1,026 runs at an average of 41.04. He scored 285 runs in 14 matches in the T20 format at a strike rate of 121.27.

In the 2022 Vijay Hazard Trophy, Jual impressed and started the bowling attack with the bat. An all-rounder, he played nine matches for Uttar Pradesh and scored an average of 494 runs.

The young player is on the topline but he is capable of playing in the middle. And with Jewell Rich’s recent form, Delhi Capitals might consider adding him to their arsenal.

 Priyam Garg

Priyam Garg is a proven actor in his own country. He impressed at Cricket FC where he scored 1,512 runs at an average of 50.40 in 22 matches. He is the highest run-scorer in List A cricket with 1,153 runs in 36 matches at a strike rate of 91.36.

Garg has had an unsuccessful relationship with Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2020. The youngster, who played 21 matches for the Hyderabad franchise, scored 115.14 runs off just 251 balls. After a mediocre performance, he was dropped by SRH and missed the IPL matches for the 2023 player auction.

Although Garg hasn’t been at his best at the IPL level, he has showcased his potential and created an impressive bowling attack for the reserves. So Delhi Capitals can look at him as Pont’s replacement in the next season.

Baba Indrajithis a domestic sector banker in India. The 28-year-old played 62 FA games and averaged 52.77. In A-Series cricket, he scored an average of 1,268 runs in 49 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Inderjeet for the 2022 mega auction to strengthen their lineup. However, he did not perform as expected, scoring only 21 runs at a strike rate of 70.00. Although they have failed to impress other Tamil Nadu with underperforming, KKR were different. The goalkeeper went under the hammer in the IPL 2023 auction, but no franchise showed interest in him.

Inderjit has always shown his class at home and if given time, he will shine in the rich league. Hence, Delhi Capitals are unquestionable favorites to fill Pont’s place in the 16th edition of IPL.

Sheldon Jackson is a popular name in Indian society. He played 85 FA matches and scored 6235 runs at an average of 49.48. In the shorter format, the middle-order batsman scored 1690 runs in 77 matches at a strike rate of 119.77.

In the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Jackson scored 297 runs at an average of 49.50 in 10 matches. By the end of the tournament, he scored a brilliant 133* to win the title for Saurashtra.

The veteran batsman has been sent home several times and Jackson’s clean touch could see Delhi Capital sign him as a replacement for the injured Pant. Not particularly
