Cricketer Prithvi Shaw’s car ‘attacked’ after he refuses selfies; influencer Sapna Gill arrested
Oshihara police have charged Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his friend with eight counts of rioting, assault and indecent behaviour.
According to police, the Sahara star was asked to remove her clothes in the hotel lobby on Wednesday morning by two men as they were following her to click photographs. The staff was divided. But when they were waiting for Shah, they attacked his car with sticks.
The same day, a video of the incident was released online.
Police said Ashish Yadav accompanied Shah and Brijesh to Sahara Star Hotel near the regional airport.
A policeman said: “While we were eating, two people including a woman came up to us, at first Cricket helped, but they both were smiling, they took pictures.
When Shah again refused to be photographed, the police attacked him with two men.
Yadav told police, “After dinner, Prithvi, Brijesh and I were going out and one of them found a baseball bat. I was still sitting in the car.”
Yadav asked Shah to sit in another car. He and Bresha stopped a little to the left. Later, Yadav saw several people following him in cars and motorcycles.
The brigade intercepted the vehicle and started investigation. “An unidentified person riding a motorcycle fired a pistol through the rear window of their vehicle,” the complaint said.
According to the police, he demanded Rs 50,000 by giving false evidence to intimidate the woman.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Zone IX) Anil Paraskar said, “When the three men finally arrived, the woman told them that the matter was over.”
Yadav returned to the Sahara Star Hotel and was interviewed by Shobhit Thakur and Sapna Gill.
